Storm Name Front Office Changes

NASHVILLE-The Nashville Storm of the Gridiron Developmental Football League (GDFL) announced changes to their front office for the 2016 season. With the retirement of long-time owner Bill Caldwell, President/Head Coach Charles Hunter added owner to his duties with the team. Hunter, a Storm former player, has been the head coach with the team for seven years. Under Caldwell, the team won several championships including last season's GDFL championship game in New Orleans.

"Bill came to me last season and said he was ready to retire," said Hunter. "Then he asked if I wanted to take over and I said yes. Bill didn't leave the cupboard bare. He left us in great shape financially and with the groundwork. We plan to keep going in the same winning direction. We have work to do but we have great chemistry coming back on the team."

Storm media consultant Scott Wallace was named General Manager by Hunter. Wallace is the Chief Executive Officer of Wallace Media Group (WMG) a media consulting firm that he co-owns with his wife Harriet Vaughan-Wallace based in Nashville. The last two seasons, WMG has played multiple roles with the Storm. They broadcasted games on their radio station, took electronic game statistics, game photographs, video of games, handled game day operations and website building for the team. The company also manages some players and some coaches on the Storm. Wallace is ready to get started in his new role.

"The Storm is known all over the country as a winning organization," said Wallace. "To be the GM of a successful organization is humbling. Coach Hunter is a great guy to work with. WMG is not foreign to the Storm family. The players, coaches and staff welcomed us in. I am anxious to get this rolling. Our company has over 20 employees at our disposal. We hope to make the Nashville Storm the household name in this city as it is in developmental football across the country.

The team also announced they will retain all the coaches from last season. The Storm will start the season with a preseason game on May 7. Organized Team Activities will take place March 6th, March 13th and March 20th. Tryouts for new players will be March 20th and March 27th.
